Terms of Use

As a candidate in Academic Work's database, we offer you the opportunity to apply for available positions and explore new career opportunities. When you register with a user profile at Academic Work, we have the opportunity to match your profile in our database with vacancies, and you also have the opportunity to search for vacancies and create job agents (herinafter the "Services")

Please read the following terms of use carefully before you create a personal profile and use our services. When you register as a user, you simultaneously declare that you agree to comply with our terms of use and that Academic Work undertakes to provide the Services in accordance to the terms of use.

General

  • The Services are provided by Academic Work Denmark A/S, CVR no. 31743478, Rådhuspladsen 45, 1., 1550 Copenhagen (“Academic Work,” “we,” “our,” “us”).
  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, your use of and access to the Services is subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement (“Terms”).
  • Certain products and services offered through the Services are provided by third parties and not by us. Academic Work assumes no responsibility for products and/or Services provided by third parties. For such products or services, the terms and conditions of the relevant third party apply instead.
  • By using the Services, you agree to comply with the Terms and confirm that you fully understand the content of the rights and obligations set out in the Terms.

User profile

  • In order to use the Services, you must register as a user and create a user profile. A user profile can be created (i) via our website, (ii) by telephone, or (iii) at one of our events.
  • As a user, it is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide to Academic Work is correct.
  • As a user, you are solely responsible for any use made of your username and password that you have been assigned and/or created under your profile. If your user profile or password is lost or stolen, or if you have a reasonable suspicion that an unauthorized person has gained access to your profile, you must immediately notify Academic Work and change your password. As a user, you are responsible for any use made of your username and password until Academic Work has received and confirmed receipt of your notification.
  • If a user discloses their username and/or password to others or loses them, Academic Work is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting therefrom.

Scope of services

When you register with us with a user profile, you gain access to the Services, which include the following:

  • Your profile will be made available to our recruitment staff in our candidate database.
  • You can apply for vacancies that we advertise on our own behalf or on behalf of our clients.
  • You can create job agents and receive direct notifications of job vacancies that match your search criteria.

Use of the Services

  • As a user, you are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies at all times with all guidelines and instructions you receive from Academic Work.
  • When you create a profile, you are solely responsible for the information, data, text, messages, or other material provided or generated by you when using the Services (“User-Generated Content”).
  • Academic Work reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse to accept, publish, display, use, or otherwise make available any User-generated Content. Academic Work also has the right, without prior notice, to remove any User-generated Content that Academic Work considers to be in violation of the Terms of Use or applicable laws, regulations, or guidelines.

Early termination

  • As a user, you are entitled at any time to delete your user profile and thereby terminate this agreement with immediate effect by following the instructions on the website.
  • Academic Work is entitled to terminate this Agreement with thirty (30) days' notice to you as a user by sending an email to the address you provided when you registered as a user. If you have not provided an email address, Academic Work is entitled to terminate the agreement by sending you a written notice via the Services.
  • Your right to use the Services will end at the same time as the agreement ends.

Personal data

  • In order to provide the Services, we need to process your personal data. Please see Academic Works' policy regarding our processing of personal data and use of cookies, which explains your rights as a registered user and the legal basis for Academic Works' processing of personal data (including cookies) provided or collected through the Services or the website. Availability and limitation of liability

  • It is our intention that the Services should be available at all times and that errors or defects should be corrected without undue delay. When you create a user profile, you confirm that you are aware of and agree that the Services are provided free of charge and that Academic Works does not guarantee that the Services (or parts thereof) will not be affected by interruptions, disruptions, delays, or other forms of errors.
  • Except for loss or damage caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of Academic Work, Academic Work's liability is limited to direct loss or damage incurred by you as a user as a result of Academic Work's breach of this agreement.

Changes

  • Academic Work reserves the right to change the Terms at any time.
  • With the exception of User-generated Content, Academic Work reserves the right to change or update the content of the Services at any time without prior notice. Academic Work accepts no responsibility for any consequences that may arise from such changes and/or updates. If you continue to use the Services after any changes have come into effect, you as a user will be deemed to have accepted the changes and updates in question.

Choice of law and disputes

  • These Terms are governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with Danish law, with the exception of the international private law rules of Danish law.
  • As a consumer, you are entitled to have disputes arising from the Terms resolved through alternative dispute resolution, provided that the dispute meets the conditions for this (e.g. requirements regarding time or value). Academic Work undertakes to participate in alternative dispute resolution with consumers in accordance with the Act on Alternative Dispute Resolution in Consumer Complaints (the Consumer Complaints Act). The relevant dispute resolution body is:

  • The European Commission has developed a platform for out-of-court dispute resolution. Here, as a consumer, you have the opportunity to resolve a dispute concerning online orders without going to court. You can find the platform here.
